Podere Casanova
Boutique Italian wine producer sited between Veneto and Tuscany

Podere Casanova
Montepulciano, Italy
“This high end boutique winery was introduced to me by an Italian sommelier, and is one of my earliest projects. Isidoro and Susanna Ponzin have come into wine from a different industry, but their careful vineyard husbandry and evident winemaking skills are fully demonstrated in their compact but exquisite range. Primarily producers of Tuscan red wines, they also make a simply gorgeous but small quantity of Chardonnay/Grechetto available in selected years: their Canto blended white is a very good alternative at a more approachable price.”

Podere Casanova Mane
Red IGT Toscana made predominantly from Sangiovese and Merlot, fermented in stainless steel but sees 3-4 months ageing in large French oak vats. Superbly approachable in price terms, it delivers plenty of typical spice and cherry aromatics, ahead of a youthful, medium-full and immensely graceful palate. Mane’s stable mate, Corte (with more Cabernet), is well worth checking out too.

Podere Casanova Nobile Di Montepulciano
A classic Tuscan 95% Sangiovese red with striking concentration. Black fruits predominate, with wild herbs, liquorice and well integrated oak, this wine has a firm grip of sweet, ripe tannins, backed by fresh acidity. Layers of characterful autumnal berry, cloves, tobacco and dark chocolate lift the finish which is long and finely poised.
